A significant political change has occurred in Bihar with Samrat Choudhary being sworn in as the 24th Chief Minister, marking the first BJP-led government in the state. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Lok Bhawan, where Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath of office to Choudhary.
Following Choudhary’s oath, senior JD(U) leaders Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Vijendra Prasad Yadav also took office as Deputy Chief Ministers under the alliance agreement. Before his inauguration, Choudhary sought blessings at a Hanuman temple in Rajvanshi Nagar, signifying a new political beginning.
This transition follows the resignation of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who moved to the Rajya Sabha, allowing for a BJP-led leadership in Bihar. With this change, Bihar enters a new era of governance under direct BJP leadership for the first time.
Samrat Choudhary, a prominent BJP leader, has a long political career, starting in 1990 and culminating in his appointment as Chief Minister. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, with a strong political background, and Vijendra Prasad Yadav, a respected figure in Bihar politics, also play crucial roles in the new government.
