Popular singer Honey Singh has issued an apology following criticism for his controversial statement “Gaadi mein s** karo, Dilli ki thand mein” made during a concert in Delhi. In a video and written note released on Thursday, Jan 15, he expressed regret for the offense caused by his words.

In his video message, Honey Singh clarified that his statement was edited and misrepresented. He also shared a written apology, acknowledging the discomfort and offense caused by the circulation of the video online.

Stating that his intention was never to harm or insult anyone, Honey Singh explained that his message was influenced by discussions with gynaecologists and sexologists about the risks of unprotected sex among the youth. He expressed remorse for the inappropriate manner in which he conveyed his message.

He further mentioned that while attending a show and observing a young audience, he attempted to emphasize the importance of protection using language familiar to them from the content they consume. Honey Singh concluded by assuring a more thoughtful and responsible approach in his future words and actions.

For those unaware, Honey Singh faced backlash for his remarks at a recent concert in Delhi, where he made a controversial comment that sparked controversy.
