HOPS FC emerged victorious in the Indian Women’s League 2 (IWL 2) 2025-26 season, securing a flawless record with five wins in the Final Round and a total of nine wins. The team dominated the six-team Final Round held in Bengaluru, finishing first with 15 points and scoring eight goals while maintaining a solid defense.
Juba Sangha FC claimed the second spot, earning promotion to the upcoming 2026-27 Indian Women’s League season. They finished with 12 points, winning four out of five matches and becoming the top-scoring team in the Final Round with 15 goals. This promotion marks Juba Sangha’s debut in the Indian Women’s League.
HOPS FC’s journey to victory included wins over Krida Prabodhini Pune, Mumbai Knights FC, Suruchi Sangha, Kemp FC, and a final 1-0 triumph over Juba Sangha. On the other hand, Juba Sangha started strong with wins against Kemp and Krida Prabodhini Pune but fell short to HOPS in the final match, securing the second position.
Krida Prabodhini Pune’s Simran Gurung emerged as the tournament’s top scorer with nine goals, followed by players like Sumaiyya Shaikh, Roshni Tigga, and Vipanshi. The Indian Women’s League 2, introduced in the 2023-24 season, serves as the second tier of women’s club football in India, with the top two teams earning promotion to the premier IWL.
