Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan recently highlighted his Bengali heritage, proudly mentioning his “25 percent Bengali blood.” This connection comes from his paternal grandmother, Ira Roshan, a Bengali Brahmin married to the renowned music director Roshanlal Nagrath. Sharing his love for Bengali cuisine on Instagram with #ShonarBangla and #MachcharJhol, Hrithik expressed his cultural pride.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Hrithik revealed that his grandmother affectionately called him Duggu, a reversal of his father’s nickname, Guddu. Dressed in traditional attire, the actor’s post hinted at preparations for his cousin’s wedding. Hrithik also penned a touching note to his cousin Eshu, praising his evolution as a filmmaker and offering warm wishes for Eshu’s marriage to Aishwarya.
Transitioning to his professional endeavors, Hrithik is venturing into OTT production with “Storm,” a thriller in collaboration with Prime Video set in Mumbai. Additionally, he is gearing up for his directorial debut with ‘Krrish 4,’ a project under Yash Raj Films in which he will both direct and star as the titular superhero. Production for the film is slated to commence soon.
