The duo’s photo was shared on the Red Sea Film Foundation’s Instagram, featuring the “Women in Cinema” segment. The event also showcased Tara Sutaria with Nigerian actress Genevieve Nnaji.
Huma and Malek were captured smiling together in the shared image. The Red Sea Film Foundation highlighted the celebration of women’s cinematic contributions at the Cannes Film Festival. The foundation’s post included a list of notable attendees, including Huma Qureshi and Malek.
Rami Malek gained fame for his role as Freddie Mercury in the 2018 film “Bohemian Rhapsody.” His portrayal earned him various accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2019. Malek, of Egyptian heritage, made history as the first actor of such descent to win in that category.
Huma Qureshi is preparing for the release of “Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups,” starring Yash. In the movie, she will play the character Elizabeth alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, and Aksahy Oberoi. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and written by Yash, the film was shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
