Hundreds of individuals trapped by floods in Gujarat were successfully rescued on Saturday by various teams including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indian Coast Guard, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local authorities. In Navsari district, the NDRF completed operations in flood-affected areas, rescuing a total of 120 people, including women, men, and children. The Indian Coast Guard’s relief efforts have saved 170 lives, with helicopters and aircraft deployed for assistance.
The NDRF, Coast Guard, and other teams conducted rescue operations in different districts like Valsad, Navsari, and Ahmedabad. In one instance, an NDRF team evacuated 63 individuals from Bhetawada village, while in Dholka, nine people were rescued from the Kalikund area. Additionally, the NDRF reported evacuating 103 people from Dholka taluka, including women, men, and children. The teams also responded to specific requests for assistance, such as evacuating a pregnant woman in Bootbhawani village.
Infrastructure repairs were also carried out in Tapi district, with emergency repairs on the Sonagadh-Goda road. The road was reopened for vehicular traffic after repairs were completed, ensuring connectivity for the affected areas. The NDRF and other response teams remained active, redeploying personnel based on changing flood conditions and responding to emergency calls for assistance.
