Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar expressed support for Telangana’s Parents Support Bill, which mandates a 15% salary deduction or Rs 10,000 from public representatives and employees neglecting their elderly parents. The deducted amount will directly benefit the parents. The Bill is set to be introduced during the ongoing Budget session of the State legislature.

Sajjanar praised the Bill as a significant step, highlighting the importance of caring for aging parents. He emphasized the societal impact of neglecting parents, calling it a betrayal of fundamental values. The Commissioner commended the government’s moral intervention, stating that it serves as a crucial reminder of filial responsibilities.

The Commissioner lauded the Bill as not just a legal measure but a reflection of societal values. He underscored the need for compassion and emphasized that true progress lies in how a society cares for its elders. Sajjanar thanked the Telangana government for enacting this legislation, urging people to honor their parents not out of obligation but out of gratitude for their sacrifices.
