Hyderabad Toofans kicked off their Bhubaneswar leg in the Men’s Hockey India League with a commanding 6-0 victory over Shrachi Bengal Tigers at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium. Zachary Wallace and Tim Brand shone for the Toofans, each scoring a hat-trick to secure a resounding win. Wallace netted in the 2nd, 17th, and 30th minutes, while Brand found the target in the 12th, 39th, and 46th minutes.
Hyderabad Toofans took an early lead in the second minute of the game as Talwinder Singh set up Wallace for a neat finish. Despite Shrachi Bengal Tigers earning two quick penalty corners, they failed to capitalize. The Toofans extended their lead through Brand’s swift reaction to a saved drag-flick in the 12th minute. Wallace added another goal in the 17th minute with a low shot past the goalkeeper.
In the second quarter, Shrachi Bengal Tigers had some promising chances, but Hyderabad’s defense remained solid. Wallace completed his hat-trick just before halftime with a deflected effort. The third quarter saw a more balanced play, but Hyderabad regained control, with Brand calmly finishing in the 39th minute to make it 5-0.
The Toofans sealed their dominance in the fourth quarter as Brand secured his hat-trick in the 46th minute. Despite late penalty corners for Shrachi Bengal Tigers, Hyderabad’s disciplined defense held firm, ensuring a clean sheet throughout the match.
