Hyderabad’s Rahil Pillarisetty secured a remarkable double victory to clinch the premier Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open category championship at the MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship’s final day in Chennai. Meanwhile, Chennai’s PM Soorya, after a nine-year wait, triumphed in the Pro-Stock 200cc Open category and secured third place later in the day, marking a significant win.
Chennai’s Jagathishree Kumaresan retained her Girls (Stock 165cc) title, while Rajender Beedani from Hyderabad claimed the Stock 165cc (Novice) crown. Additionally, Coimbatore’s Raj Kumar emerged victorious in the SuperSport Intermediate 165cc class, securing his maiden National title, and Varun Patil from Bengaluru triumphed in the Stock 301-400cc (Novice) category.
Rahil Pillarisetty, aged 28, sealed his championship victory by winning Race-1 on Saturday and repeating the feat on the final day, capping off a successful season with seven wins and three podium finishes. He faced tough competition from Petronas TVS Racing team’s Chiranth Vishwanath and Rakshith Dave, who finished second and third, respectively.
Jagathishree Kumaresan, the 21-year-old archaeology graduate, maintained her dominance in the Girls (Stock 165cc) category despite finishing third, with Ann Jennifer and Saimah Ajaz Baig taking the lead. Soorya expressed his emotional journey to winning the championship, dedicating the victory to his late mother and highlighting the consistent performances that led to his maiden National title.
