The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is now in the exciting Super 8s phase after intense preliminary matches. Eight teams remain in contention for the semifinals, with matches scheduled from February 21 to March 1. Pakistan will face New Zealand in the opening game, while India will take on South Africa in a rematch of the 2024 final.
Seven pre-seeded teams have advanced, joined by Zimbabwe, the underdog story of the tournament. In Group 1, India, Zimbabwe, West Indies, and South Africa will compete fiercely for a spot in the semis. Zimbabwe, a surprise package, will test their fearless cricket against top sides.
Group 2 features Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England, and New Zealand in a clash of rivals and champions. The format includes a single round-robin stage, with each team playing three matches. Only the top two from each group will progress, making every game crucial for the teams.
The tournament venues include Narendra Modi Stadium, R. Premadasa Stadium, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Eden Gardens, Wankhede Stadium, MA Chidambaram Stadium, and Arun Jaitley Stadium.
