The ‘Class of 26′ series, part of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, honors the alma maters of players like Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, and Sanju Samson. This initiative aims to inspire the next generation by connecting the prestigious trophy to the players’ early careers. The goal is to defend the World Cup title on home ground and share the trophy’s journey from school days to international success.
The visits to the alma maters emphasize the importance of dreams and hard work in achieving success. Students engage in interactive activities with the trophy, mascots Blaze and Tonk, and participate in games to win merchandise. The tour started at MK High School in Vadodara, followed by the College of Commerce in Patna and Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram, where the players studied.
At each institution, the trophy was welcomed with a ceremonial guard of honor, followed by fun activities with the mascots and faculty members. The emotional connection between players and their roots was evident as students at Mar Ivanios College left personal messages for Sanju Samson. The tour will continue to other squad members’ former schools, highlighting the ambition that led to their global success.
