The International Cricket Council (ICC) has updated on the departure of teams after the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. South Africa and West Indies contingents are heading back home due to ongoing travel disruptions. Following the T20 World Cup, some teams faced challenges in leaving India because of airspace restrictions related to conflicts in the Middle East and West Asia.
Four South African players and five family members have already left for home, with the remaining 29 members of the contingent scheduled to depart within the next 24 hours. Similarly, nine members of the West Indies camp have departed for the Caribbean, while the remaining 16 are expected to leave India within the next 12 hours. The ICC is managing logistics to ensure safe transit for all affected teams, including accommodation arrangements.
The ICC expressed gratitude to the players, families, and staff for their patience during these unexpected travel disruptions. They are working to facilitate the smooth return of all team members to their respective destinations.
