In a significant breakthrough, Khargone Police conducted a raid on an illegal arms manufacturing factory located near the Rupa river in Signoor village. Five individuals were caught red-handed during the operation, which was carried out by a joint team from Gogawan and Sanawad police stations. The raid was part of a special campaign against illegal weapon production and trafficking in the district.
Superintendent of Police Ravindra Verma stated that the raid led to the confiscation of a substantial quantity of arms, ammunition components, and manufacturing tools valued at around Rs 2.75 lakh. Among the items seized were nine country-made pistols, two country-made guns (kattas), two unfinished pistols, various magazines, grinding machines, molds, and other equipment. The recovered items indicated a well-equipped setup for the illicit production of firearms.
The arrested individuals, identified as Vikas Singh Sikligar (19), Kanha Sikligar (30), Suraj Singh Sikligar (40), Gurubadal Singh Sikligar (22), and Roshan Singh (19), all hail from Signoor village. Preliminary investigations revealed that some of the accused had prior cases registered against them under the Arms Act. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Shakuntala Ruhal, as per the directives of Inspector General Anurag (Indore Rural) and Deputy Inspector General Siddharth Bahuguna (Nimar Range).
Authorities are currently interrogating the arrested individuals to dismantle the supply network and identify other members involved in the illegal arms manufacturing racket. A case has been filed against the accused under Section 25(1)(a) of the Arms Act. Further probes are ongoing to ascertain the distribution network of these weapons and potential connections with other criminal elements.
