India A secured a convincing victory over Pakistan A in the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars Group A match. After restricting Pakistan A to 93 runs in 18.5 overs, India A successfully chased down the target in just 10.1 overs at the Terdthai Cricket Ground.
Opener Vrinda Dinesh played a crucial role in India A’s chase, scoring 55 runs off 29 balls. The bowling efforts of Saima Thakor, Radha Yadav, and Prema Rawat, who took a total of six wickets, set the stage for India A’s comfortable win in the competition. Minnu Mani and Jintimani Kalita also contributed with one wicket each for India A.
The chase had a shaky start with the early dismissal of Humairaa Kaazi, but Vrinda and Anushka Sharma’s aggressive batting helped India A reach 63-1 by the end of the powerplay. Despite Anushka’s departure for 24 runs, Vrinda’s impressive fifty off 25 balls, including 12 boundaries, guided India A towards victory. Tejal Hasabnis sealed the win for India A with a six and a four, finishing the chase with 59 balls to spare.
Pakistan A, opting to bat first, struggled as they were reduced to 21/4 within five overs. Saima’s early breakthroughs and Radha’s tight bowling further dented Pakistan’s innings, leading to a total of 93 runs. A brief partnership between Gull Rukh and Anosha Nasir provided some resistance, but Pakistan’s lower order collapsed quickly, allowing India A to secure the win comfortably.
