The upcoming ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ has garnered significant interest worldwide, with Ministry of Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, stating it is on track to become the largest AI summit globally. Leading IT firms have developed over 200 specialized AI models, set for unveiling during the summit. Investments nearing $70 billion are already directed towards AI infrastructure, with potential to double by the event’s conclusion.
Minister Vaishnaw highlighted plans to enhance AI talent development by expanding AI infrastructure and tailored curricula to 500 universities, bolstering the talent pool for the sector. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent engagements with industry stakeholders, developers, and innovators in the AI domain underscore India’s systematic progress in AI ecosystem development and deployment-focused solutions.
The inaugural global AI summit in the Global South is scheduled from February 16–20, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in India. Secretary S. Krishnan emphasized the summit’s core goal of democratizing technology, specifically AI, to ensure broad societal benefits. The event aims to align AI governance and standards, fostering a global consensus on safe and responsible AI deployment in practical scenarios.
During the Summit week, a diverse program of 500+ events will take place at Bharat Mandapam and Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, featuring leader-level dialogues, exhibitions, and outcome-oriented sessions. The AI Impact Expo will host 840+ exhibitors, including Country Pavilions, Ministries, State Governments, Industry, Startups, and Research Institutions, showcasing AI solutions with tangible real-world impacts. IndiaAI will also showcase advancements in the country’s foundational AI models.
