India is set to compete in various events on Day 2 of the 2026 Commonwealth Games. The para powerlifting team holds significant medal hopes, with multiple lifters participating in the men’s and women’s finals. Ashok, Parmjeet Kumar, Jaspreet Kaur, Suman Devi, and Kasthuri Rajamani are among the key contenders in different weight categories.
The day kicks off with the Indian men’s artistic gymnastics team competing in the team final and individual qualification rounds. In swimming, para swimmers Ravi Veera Venkata Bhavani Karthik Budigna and Imam Ali will vie in the men’s S13 100m freestyle heats. Additionally, top Indian swimmer Srihari Natraj will start his campaign in the men’s 50m backstroke event.
India will also participate in lawn bowls and boxing events. Pinki, Rupa Rani Tirkey, and Putul Sonowal will represent the country in lawn bowls, while Jadumani Singh will kick off India’s boxing challenge. With a busy schedule ahead, India aims to capitalize on medal opportunities in para powerlifting, swimming, gymnastics, and other disciplines at the Commonwealth Games.
