India and the European Union have taken steps to enhance their textile and apparel connections by signing a Letter of Intent (LoI) between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation and France’s Première Vision. This agreement aims to boost trade, innovation, and sustainable sourcing in the textile industry. The collaboration will not only encourage innovation, sustainability, and design excellence but also facilitate global sourcing and trend intelligence across the textile value chain.
Première Vision’s PV Paris, a renowned textile and fashion sourcing exhibition, is a key player in trend forecasting, innovation, and design excellence globally. Through this partnership, Indian manufacturers, MSMEs, exporters, and emerging brands will gain access to a prominent platform to showcase premium textiles, apparel, accessories, and sustainable materials to international buyers, designers, and fashion houses.
The alliance will offer enhanced opportunities for Indian stakeholders to expand their presence in the global market and engage with leading international buyers and fashion houses. It will also provide Première Vision and its network with improved access to India’s integrated textile value chain, fostering business partnerships, sourcing opportunities, and collaboration. This collaboration, marked by the exchange of trend and design intelligence, is a significant move towards strengthening buyer-seller engagement and promoting global textile trade.
The LoI exchange took place during the inaugural session of Bharat Tex 2026, following the successful negotiations on the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh, emphasized that this partnership positions Bharat Tex as a global platform, enabling Indian MSMEs, exporters, and manufacturers to connect with European buyers effectively. Singh highlighted India’s reputation as a reliable, innovative, and sustainable sourcing destination, underscoring the country’s growing role in the global textile value chain.
