India and France have emphasized the importance of ‘trusted AI’ as a cornerstone of their innovation partnership, building on their previous commitments in the field of Artificial Intelligence. They aim to develop safe, secure, and ethical AI systems that uphold democratic values, prevent discrimination, and align with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
In a joint effort to address risks associated with AI-enabled services, particularly concerning vulnerable groups like children, India and France will enhance cooperation on child safety online within the framework of their AI partnership. Both countries also highlight the significance of privacy-preserving data sharing frameworks to unlock the full potential of AI while protecting fundamental rights.
Under the Horizon 2047 framework, India and France recognize the pivotal role of investing in STEM education, fostering research partnerships, promoting talent mobility, and enhancing institutional collaboration to equip future generations in tackling global challenges. They also aim to strengthen people-to-people ties, with France targeting to host 30,000 Indian students by 2030.
Additionally, institutions from both countries have committed to collaborating on academic mobility through student exchanges and joint research initiatives.
