India and Greece reaffirmed their dedication to combat cross-border terrorism during the 14th Round of India-Greece Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi on June 5, 2026. The consultations, co-chaired by Ambassador Sibi George and Ambassador Andreas Fryganas, emphasized the importance of political and defense relations, trade and investment, and cultural cooperation to enhance the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Both sides also discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest, highlighting the significance of their bilateral relations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis previously met in February to explore avenues for enhancing connectivity, particularly through the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
Furthermore, Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh engaged in discussions with Chief of the Hellenic Navy, Vice Admiral Dimitrios Eleftherios Kataras, in New Delhi to advance defense cooperation between India and Greece. The talks focused on maritime security, shipbuilding, and autonomous platforms, underscoring their commitment to strengthening the Strategic Partnership.
