The 12th Meeting of the India–Malaysia Joint Sub-Committee on Defence Science, Technology and Industry Cooperation took place in New Delhi. Dr. Vijay Namdeorao Zade and Mr. Mohd Nizam Bin Mohd Khir co-chaired the meeting from the Indian and Malaysian sides, respectively. Both countries reiterated their dedication to long-term collaboration and enhancing defence industrial ties.
During the 11th edition of the Indian Navy and Royal Malaysian Navy Staff Talks in New Delhi, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral engagements and maritime cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The talks aimed at enhancing collaborative efforts towards maritime security.
The defence relationship between India and Malaysia has seen continuous growth. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Defence Cooperation, signed in 1993, serves as the foundation for their defence ties. This MoU enables the expansion of bilateral cooperation to encompass joint ventures, joint development projects, procurement, logistics, maintenance support, and training.
