India sees Europe, including Moldova, as crucial partners in its journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. The focus is on expanding business collaborations and boosting Indian involvement in Moldova’s economic progress. Both countries are exploring opportunities in sectors like IT, healthcare, renewable energy, and manufacturing to drive mutual investment and sustainable growth.
The bilateral cooperation extends to education and capacity building, with India and Moldova finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding on higher education collaboration. Additionally, discussions encompassed areas such as solar energy, sustainable technologies, and climate-resilient development. The two nations are aligning on sustainable development priorities and exploring partnerships in various multilateral initiatives led by India.
President Murmu’s visit includes interactions with the Indian community in Moldova, emphasizing the significance of people-to-people ties in strengthening bilateral relations. The State Visit underscores the shared commitment of India and Moldova to building a robust partnership based on democratic values and a common pursuit of peace and prosperity. President Murmu also extended an invitation to Moldovan President Maia Sandu to visit India.
As a symbol of friendship, President Murmu presented a bust of Mahatma Gandhi to President Sandu, highlighting the universal relevance of Gandhi’s message. The gesture signifies the enduring bond between the two nations and their mutual respect for each other’s values and aspirations.
