India and Singapore have reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing multilateral cooperation in combating terrorism. During the 5th Meeting of India-Singapore Joint Working Group on Combating Terrorism and Transnational Crime in New Delhi, both nations emphasized the significance of joint efforts in countering terrorism. The meeting, co-chaired by officials from both countries, condemned terrorism in all its forms, including recent terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and New Delhi.
The Joint Working Group strongly condemned the terrorist incidents and stressed the need for holding perpetrators accountable. Discussions during the meeting included cooperation in combating UN-listed terror groups, enhancing information sharing to address cross-border threats, and tackling various traditional and emerging security challenges. Both sides agreed to bolster cooperation in areas such as law enforcement, information sharing, and capacity building to effectively counter terrorism and transnational crimes.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of international collaboration in addressing transnational scams. India and Singapore expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation through information exchanges, capacity building, and sharing best practices in combating transnational crimes. The Joint Working Group plans to convene its next meeting in Singapore at a mutually agreed-upon date.
