India is working with local authorities to bring back the bodies of 12 Indian nationals who died in an explosion at Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson termed the incident as “very unfortunate” and mentioned that 66 people of various nationalities were injured, with the exact number of Indian casualties still unknown. The injured Indian nationals are reported to be safe.
The Ministry of External Affairs is in talks with local authorities to identify and transport the mortal remains of the deceased Indians back to India. The families of the deceased are also being supported during this tragic time. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed deep sorrow over the incident and assured that the Indian Embassy in Doha is providing necessary assistance to the affected families.
