India has expressed serious concern over the drone strike that targeted the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates. The Ministry of External Affairs described the incident as a dangerous escalation and called for all parties to show restraint and engage in diplomatic dialogue.
The Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, situated in the Al Dhafra Region of the UAE, is the first operational nuclear power facility in the Arab world. The attack on such a critical infrastructure has raised international alarm, given the sensitivity of nuclear facilities under global safety standards.
Following a drone strike, a fire broke out at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra Region of the UAE. Authorities in Abu Dhabi swiftly responded to the incident, which was caused by the drone strike on an electrical generator outside the plant’s inner perimeter.
The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation confirmed that the fire did not compromise the safety or operational readiness of the power plant. All units at the facility are functioning normally, with no reported injuries or impact on radiological safety levels.
