India head coach Gautam Gambhir was spotted at the Arun Jaitley Stadium watching the IPL 2026 match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Accompanied by his wife Natasha and India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, Gambhir, who has strong ties to both franchises, added intrigue to the high-stakes encounter. He has captained KKR to two IPL titles and represented DC during his playing career.
Gambhir, along with Kotak, was seen in the hospitality stands with BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla and senior men’s selection committee member RP Singh. Their presence at the match, which featured several regular India players, is significant as India prepares for upcoming international assignments across all formats, including the World Test Championship final and the Men’s ODI World Cup in 2027.
Following India’s victory in the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, the focus now shifts to the upcoming cricket events, including a one-off Test against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh from June 6-10. This will be followed by a series of ODIs in Dharamsala, Lucknow, and Chennai on June 14, 17, and 20, respectively, along with white-ball tours of England and Zimbabwe.
