India Loses 2-4 to Argentina in FIH Men’s Pro League Match

India faced a 2-4 defeat against Argentina in the final match of the Rourkela leg of the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025–26 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium. Tadeo Marcucci scored twice for Argentina, with Tomas Domene and Lucio Mendez also contributing goals. Aditya Lalage and Sanjay scored for India in a hard-fought game.

Argentina dominated possession and created numerous chances in the first quarter, although India managed to keep them at bay. Despite Argentina’s early attempts, Indian goalkeeper Suraj Karkera made crucial saves, including denying a shot from Tomás Domene.

In the second quarter, Argentina took the lead through a penalty corner converted by Domene. They extended their lead further with a goal from Tadeo Marcucci. India had opportunities, with Aditya Lalage missing a chance just before halftime.

India fought back in the third quarter, earning consecutive penalty corners but failing to convert. Argentina capitalized on their chances, with Lucio Mendez scoring to make it 3-0. Argentina added another goal in the final quarter, while India managed to score through Lalage and Sanjay to reduce the deficit to 4-2.
