Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the collaboration between India and Nordic nations to reinforce the rules-based global order amidst current global tensions. During the third India-Nordic Summit in Oslo, PM Modi highlighted the importance of working together to address conflicts and promote peace, stressing the need for reform in multilateral institutions. He underscored the shared values of democracy, multilateralism, and the rule of law that bind India and the Nordic countries as natural partners.

PM Modi expressed gratitude for the partnership with Nordic nations, noting the significant role of investment funds from these countries in India’s rapid economic growth. Over the years, bilateral trade between India and the Nordic countries has seen a substantial increase, with investment from Nordic countries in India nearly doubling in the last decade. This growth in trade and investment has not only benefited India’s economy but has also positively impacted the Nordic countries, creating numerous job opportunities.

The discussions at the summit focused on various aspects such as sustainability, innovation, clean energy, and emerging technologies, aiming to strengthen cooperation for a peaceful and prosperous future. PM Modi highlighted the shared democratic values, trust, and commitment to human-centric development that unite India and the Nordic countries, emphasizing the importance of their partnership in advancing common goals.
