India has delivered 13 tonnes of BCG vaccines and related dry material to Afghanistan to support the country’s child immunisation program against tuberculosis. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, expressed India’s solidarity with Afghanistan by providing humanitarian assistance, including kitchen sets, hygiene kits, and more, in response to recent floods and earthquakes. Earlier, India had sent emergency medicines and medical equipment to aid those injured in a hospital attack in Kabul.
India’s assistance to Afghanistan comes after a Pakistani strike targeted a hospital in Kabul, resulting in casualties and injuries. India strongly condemned the attack, labeling it as a cowardly act of violence that poses a threat to regional peace and stability. The Indian government criticized Pakistan for attempting to justify the attack as a military operation, emphasizing the assault on Afghanistan’s sovereignty.
