In the boys’ category, Aditya (55kg) triumphed over Daniel Tashtanbekov from Kyrgyzstan with a convincing 5:0 win. Following suit, Sikander (60kg) claimed a clinical 5:0 victory against Taemin Yang from Korea.
Devendra Choudhary (75kg) added to India’s success by defeating Sung-Lin Tsai from Chinese Taipei via RSC. Despite a spirited performance, Prashant faced a tough loss against Bibarys Ashirvay from Kazakhstan in the 70kg bout.
India’s strong presence in the U-19 segment underscores the depth of its youth boxing program. The championships in Jakarta serve as a significant platform for India’s young talent to gain exposure and prepare for elite competitions.
