India has increased its humanitarian efforts in earthquake-affected Venezuela through Operation Amistad, focusing on providing medical aid and emergency assistance to those impacted by the disaster. The Indian Army contingent in Venezuela, under Operation Amistad, set up a field hospital to offer urgent medical help to those affected by the earthquake. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson mentioned that Operation Amistad is actively providing relief in Venezuela, with the Army Field Hospital extending support to earthquake survivors.
India recently sent urgent humanitarian aid to Venezuela following a series of powerful earthquakes that caused extensive damage in the country. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed the dispatch of Indian assistance to Venezuela, including a Field Hospital Unit, relief supplies, medicines, and medical equipment to enhance the ongoing post-earthquake relief operations. The Indian Embassy in Cote d’Ivoire highlighted the relief efforts, mentioning the transit of two Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft carrying humanitarian supplies and medical aid to Venezuela via Abidjan.
The relief operation includes a team of 41 personnel, including nine medical officers, equipped to provide emergency medical care, trauma management, surgical support, and essential healthcare services to those affected by the earthquake. This deployment underscores India’s dedication to offering humanitarian aid and disaster relief to nations in distress.
