India strongly criticized a social media post by US President Donald Trump, calling it “uninformed, inappropriate, and in poor taste.” The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, emphasized that the comments do not reflect the true nature of the India-US relationship based on mutual respect and shared interests.

The post by Trump, which targeted birthright citizenship and immigrants, has faced backlash from Indian-American organizations and political leaders. It made controversial statements about immigration and demographics, including remarks about citizens from China and India.

The post also criticized legal advocacy groups and immigrants, with Trump describing the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) as a “gangster criminal organization.” This led to immediate criticism from the Hindu American Foundation, expressing deep concern over the content and its potential to fuel hatred and endanger communities.
