India will reveal their 15-member squad for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on Saturday evening at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. The tournament is scheduled to take place in England from June 12 to July 5. Following the finalization of the squad by the women’s selection committee, the announcement will be made in a press conference at 5 pm by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, chief selector Amita Sharma, and BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia.
In addition to the Women’s T20 World Cup squad, a five-member selection committee will also pick teams for the three-match T20I series against England, preceding the main event from May 28 to June 2. Furthermore, they will select the team for the one-off Test against England at Lord’s from July 10-13, along with the India A squads for matches against England A, the dates and venues of which are yet to be disclosed.
India, placed in Group 1 of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, will compete against six-time champions Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands. The team’s preparation for the tournament included a recent five-match T20I series against South Africa, which they lost 4-1. Despite being runners-up in the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup, India has yet to secure a global title in the shortest format. The upcoming 2026 edition presents another chance for Harmanpreet & Co to aim for their first ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Trophy after their victory in the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup.
Hosts England and defending champions New Zealand have already announced their squads for the Women’s T20 World Cup. The upcoming tournament, featuring 12 teams for the first time, will include 33 matches across seven venues.
