Crediting PM Narendra Modi for prioritizing science and technology in national policymaking, Dr. Singh commended the focus on private sector involvement, innovation-driven entrepreneurship, and citizen-centric scientific progress. This strategic approach has enabled India to establish a robust technology ecosystem supporting economic growth, strategic capabilities, and public service delivery.
Highlighting India’s advancements in frontier technologies, Dr. Singh pointed out significant progress in areas such as space, nuclear energy, quantum technology, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and clean energy. The country’s technology ecosystem, built on this approach, is driving economic growth, strategic capabilities, and public service delivery simultaneously.
Dr. Singh also praised India’s achievements in the space sector, noting the development of a dynamic space ecosystem post the introduction of private sector participation. The space industry has witnessed a surge in startups, with their numbers growing from single digits to over 400. India’s space economy, currently valued at nearly USD 9 billion, is poised for substantial growth in the upcoming years.
