India’s Ministry of External Affairs emphasized the need for the international community to address nations supporting terrorism and cross-border terrorism. The Ministry stressed the importance of identifying and confronting countries that endorse and facilitate terrorism during a media briefing in New Delhi. This statement came in response to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval’s recent comments on terrorism made during his visit to Moscow.
Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor, highlighted the necessity for a unified approach in combating terrorism without any double standards. He emphasized that responsible nations must make choices regarding supporting or countering terrorism with resolute actions. Doval made these remarks during the International Security Forum and the Meeting of High Representatives for Security Matters in Moscow.
During the forum hosted by Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Ajit Doval underscored the importance of addressing security challenges in a multipolar world. He called for reforms in global structures established post-World War II to effectively tackle contemporary security threats. Doval also emphasized the significance of ensuring secure trade routes in regions like West Asia, including the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.
India issued a stern warning to Pakistan, asserting its determination to defend against cross-border terrorism and hold sponsors of terrorism accountable. India’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Security Council demanded Pakistan to unequivocally cease all support for terrorism. He emphasized that Pakistan must face the consequences of promoting cross-border terrorism and reiterated India’s right to self-defense.
