India and the United States recently conducted the 29th Army-to-Army Staff Talks in Hawaii to enhance bilateral defence cooperation. The meeting, co-chaired by Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai from the Indian Army and Lieutenant General Joel Vowell from the US Army Pacific, emphasized strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations.
During the talks, both sides focused on bolstering defence ties, improving interoperability, increasing professional exchanges, and enhancing military collaboration to support mutual security interests. The engagement highlighted the expanding scope of Army-to-Army interactions, underscoring their dedication to fortifying the India–US strategic alliance.
In a separate event, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met with House Armed Services Committee Member Pat Harrigan in Singapore. Discussions revolved around regional security, expanding defence cooperation, and advancing shared strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific region. This interaction underscored the robustness of the India–US defence partnership and the commitment to mutual security objectives.
Moreover, US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio engaged with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi on matters concerning defence, security, and strategic technology cooperation, including the TRUST initiative. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of the bilateral Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, with both sides exchanging perspectives on regional and global issues.
