India’s pacer Kranti Gaud is determined to lead the national team to victory in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, aiming to secure their first T20 World Cup title. Despite their past failures, including a recent exit in the 2024 edition, the team, under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, is focused on reclaiming the championship.

Kranti emphasized the significance of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in nurturing domestic talent, citing the success story of pacer Nandni Sharma as a testament to the platform’s effectiveness. She expressed her commitment to enhancing her strengths for the World Cup in England, where she has previously excelled.

Reflecting on the team’s bowling synergy with players like Renuka Singh Thakur and Arundhati Reddy, Kranti highlighted the importance of teamwork and shared goals in their pursuit of success. Beyond the game’s tactical aspects, she stressed the broader impact of a T20 World Cup victory in advancing women’s cricket in India.

Kranti recounted her personal journey from a village girl to a world champion, underscoring the transformative power of cricket in her life. She expressed pride in inspiring young girls across the nation to pursue their sporting dreams, empowered by the team’s achievements. Additionally, she detailed her efforts to revive cricket in her hometown, emphasizing the importance of family support in nurturing talent and fulfilling aspirations.
