Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan revealed plans to use the Indian Air Force (IAF) to deliver question papers for the NEET UG re-examination on June 21 due to logistical challenges and unpredictable June weather. This move aims to enhance the security and integrity of the examination process. The government’s strategy involves close coordination with various departments to ensure a smooth and transparent conduct of the exams.
A comprehensive approach, termed “whole-of-government,” is being adopted to oversee the secure transportation of sensitive documents. Pradhan highlighted the involvement of the Defence Ministry, Home Ministry, Postal Department, and state governments in this initiative. The IAF’s role will complement the existing efforts of other departments to guarantee the safe and timely delivery of question papers to examination centers.
In a high-level meeting attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, security measures were discussed to prevent any potential paper leaks. The government’s priority is to conduct a fair, credible examination devoid of security breaches. Pradhan affirmed the government’s readiness to ensure a secure and efficient examination process, emphasizing the non-negotiable stance on security and fairness.
