Operation Sindoor was the highlight of the Beating Retreat 2026 ceremony, where Indian military bands performed patriotic tunes like Vande Mataram and ‘Jai Ho’. The event at Vijay Chowk featured illuminated attire, digital LED panels, and special formations, captivating the audience. President Droupadi Murmu led the spectators, joined by top dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
At the ceremony’s conclusion, the national flag was lowered, and the National Anthem played, marking the end of the 77th Republic Day celebrations. The Rashtrapati Bhavan, North Block, South Block, and Parliament were illuminated post the performance. The Indian Army’s social media highlighted the mesmerizing martial tunes played during the event.
A unique aspect of this year’s ceremony was the spectator seating areas named after Indian musical instruments like flute, tabla, and sitar. President Draupadi Murmu was welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the event. The military bands played captivating tunes like “Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja” and patriotic songs, enchanting the audience.
The Central Armed Police Forces bands impressed with performances of songs like “Vijay Bharat” and “Jai Ho.” The Indian Air Force, Navy, and Army bands showcased their prowess with tunes like “Brave Warrior” and “Vande Mataram.” The Massed Band concluded the ceremony with the popular tune “Saare Jahan Se Achha,” led by Squadron Leader Lamapokpam Roopchand Singh and other conductors.
