The Indian Army has bolstered healthcare services in remote, high-altitude regions by launching a new oxygen-generation facility in Arunachal Pradesh. A containerized oxygen generation plant, along with a refilling center, was inaugurated at the field hospital in Borarupak, situated in the Subansiri Valley. This initiative, supported by the Soldiers’ Independent Rehabilitation Foundation (SIRF), aims to ensure a consistent supply of medical-grade oxygen, boosting the field hospital’s ability to cater to military personnel and civilians in the challenging terrain.

The inauguration ceremony, led by General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps, Lt Gen Abhijit S. Pendharkar, was attended by senior Indian Army officials, state administration representatives, local community members, and veterans. The oxygen generation and refilling facility is a crucial addition in areas where medical resources are scarce, serving as a vital support system. Lt Col Mahendra Rawat highlighted the strong civil-military cooperation behind this endeavor, echoing the ethos of “Nation First” and showcasing the partnership between the Armed Forces and civil society.

This facility not only enhances medical infrastructure but also signifies resilience, readiness, and optimism, ensuring timely medical aid for soldiers and the local populace. It underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to nation-building, community welfare, and operational readiness in challenging environments. In a separate incident in Manipur, the Army’s swift response in aiding a seven-year-old child bitten by a snake exemplifies its dedication to serving local communities in times of need.
