Demonstrating a unified approach to national security and safeguarding critical infrastructure, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps has initiated a comprehensive two-week specialized training program for Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel stationed at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala.

The training program, commencing at the Agartala Military Station, falls under the Military-Civil Fusion framework, aiming to boost operational coordination, enhance tactical readiness, and fortify the security of the state’s vital aviation infrastructure against evolving threats.

Experienced Indian Army instructors will deliver advanced training to CISF personnel over the 14-day program, covering a spectrum of security-related topics such as Industrial and Critical Infrastructure Security, Vital Area and Vital Point Security, Quick Reaction Team (QRT) drills, Counter-Drone Operations, and Threat Mitigation, among other contemporary security practices crucial for protecting sensitive installations.

The joint training endeavor integrates the Indian Army’s operational proficiency and combat experience with the CISF’s specialized role in aviation and critical infrastructure security, thereby bolstering the overall security framework at the MBB Airport, Tripura’s primary air gateway.

“Modern security challenges necessitate a cohesive and integrated response from all security agencies. Through the amalgamation of Indian Army’s tactical combat skills and CISF’s aviation security mandate, this collaborative effort will significantly enhance defense and security readiness at Agartala’s key airport against emerging threats,” noted a representative involved in the training program.

This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to capacity building, inter-agency collaboration, and operational synergy with the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), ensuring frontline security personnel are equipped with the latest operational skills to effectively counter a range of security challenges.

Upon completion of the training, CISF personnel at MBB Airport will resume their duties with enhanced tactical capabilities, improved response mechanisms, and modern threat-mitigation skills, further strengthening security at one of Northeast India’s crucial aviation hubs.
