Indian athletes showcased impressive performances at the IRONMAN group’s 5i50 Triathlon in Chennai. The event, which also featured the DuYoska Duathlon, attracted 650 athletes from various categories and six countries. Due to challenging water conditions, the swimming leg of the triathlon was replaced with a modified format including a 5 km run, a 40 km cycling leg, and a final 10 km run to ensure safety and competitiveness.
Crossing the finish line first in the Open Men’s category was Adarsh MS with a time of 2:05:14, while Arthi Nainar topped the Open Women’s field in 2:55:23. Indian athletes excelled across categories, with SOL Fitness, Boss of Tri, and 5121 Strivers securing top positions in the relay. The event highlighted the growing talent and depth of triathlon in India.
Deepak Raj, CEO of Yoska and Country Head of IRONMAN India, expressed excitement about the event’s success and the potential for increased participation in future races. The 5i50 Triathlon Chennai was complemented by the DuYoska Duathlon, part of the World Classic Duathlon Series, offering diverse race categories for athletes of all levels and age groups.
