Members of the Indian community in Auckland showed immense love and respect for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the ‘Kia Ora Modi’ diaspora event. This event marked the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to New Zealand in forty years, drawing a large crowd. Attendees praised PM Modi’s speech and the cultural performances that showcased the diversity of India.

One diaspora member described the event as a unifying experience, bringing together various aspects of Indian culture. Another individual commended PM Modi’s storytelling skills, noting how engaging and captivating his address was for the audience. For many, witnessing PM Modi in person was considered a “golden opportunity” that left them delighted.

The signing of a significant trade deal between India and New Zealand was also a highlight of the event, further strengthening the ties between the two nations. PM Modi expressed gratitude towards the Indian community in New Zealand for their enthusiasm and warmth during the event. He also acknowledged New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon’s presence, emphasizing the strong bond between the two countries.

The ‘Kia Ora Modi’ event in Auckland, attended by over 10,000 members of the Indian diaspora, was characterized by a sense of unity and energy. PM Modi’s address, along with the participation of Prime Minister Luxon, contributed to making the event a memorable and heartwarming experience for all involved.
