The combined market capitalization of six of India’s top 10 companies surged by Rs 88,678 crore over the holiday-shortened week. Notably, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, and Larsen & Toubro witnessed market cap gains, while Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services, Life Insurance Corporation of India, and Hindustan Unilever faced declines. ICICI Bank led the gains, adding Rs 29,588.75 crore to its market valuation.
Among the gainers, HDFC Bank’s market cap rose by Rs 24,718.3 crore, reaching Rs 12,25,981.44 crore. Bajaj Finance saw a surge of Rs 11,580.28 crore, with its valuation at Rs 6,10,081.53 crore by the week’s end. State Bank of India also added Rs 9,322.93 crore, reaching a market valuation of Rs 9,64,738 crore.
On the flip side, Bharti Airtel experienced the most significant decline, with its market valuation dropping by Rs 35,615.21 crore to Rs 11,27,348.09 crore. Life Insurance Corporation of India and Tata Consultancy Services also saw declines in their market capitalization, while Hindustan Unilever faced a decrease as well.
