The decision to extend OCI card eligibility to Malaysian citizens of Indian origin up to the 6th generation was met with joy within the diaspora. The opening of the Consulate is expected to further strengthen cooperation between India and Malaysia.

PM Modi praised the Tamil diaspora in Malaysia for their service to society and announced initiatives to further strengthen cultural ties between the two nations.
