Indian cricketer and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohammed Siraj visited Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand in Hyderabad. This marked their first meeting since Anand assumed the role of DGP in May. Also present were Inspector General Gajarao Bhupal and DSP Ramarao at the DGP Office.
In October 2024, Mohammed Siraj officially became a DSP. Following India’s victory in the ICC T-20 World Cup-2024, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced a government job and a house site for Siraj. Additionally, the State cabinet decided to offer Group-1 posts of DSP cadre to Siraj and boxer Nikhat Zareen in August 2024.
The government allocated 600 square yards of land to Siraj in Jubilee Hills. Meanwhile, DGP Anand conducted a review of the Police Welfare Society and Arogya Bhadratha wings at the DGP Office. He emphasized the importance of police personnel and their families’ welfare, discussing the progress and future plans of welfare schemes.
Addressing the officers, DGP Anand highlighted the department’s efforts to enhance the quality of life for police personnel and their families. Various welfare initiatives include scholarships for meritorious children, financial aid for competitive exam preparation, and support through loans and insurance schemes. The Health Protection Scheme benefited over 33,000 police personnel and their families in 2025, with ongoing commitment to employee healthcare evident through significant expenditure.
