Several Indian diplomatic missions around the world marked the 12th International Day of Yoga, emphasizing yoga’s global significance for health and well-being. This year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” highlighted yoga’s role in promoting active and fulfilling lives across different age groups. In Tibet, participants of the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra observed Yoga Day at Lhatse in the Tibet Autonomous Region.

Embassies organized various events to commemorate the day, such as a yoga session at Lake Titicaca in Peru by the Embassy of India in Lima. In Algeria, over 400 individuals from diverse backgrounds gathered at Jardin d’Essai du Hamma in Alegria to celebrate India’s enduring contribution to well-being. The Indian Ambassador to Algeria, Swati V. Kulkarni, encouraged attendees to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for holistic wellness.

In Guinea-Bissau, the International Day of Yoga brought together people of all ages in a spirit of wellness and unity. The event in Beirut, organized by the Embassy of India, featured a large gathering of yoga enthusiasts from Lebanon promoting the theme ‘Yoga for healthy ageing.’ The program included national anthems, speeches by dignitaries, a short film screening, and a yoga session led by seven instructors.
