Around 75% of Indian enterprises consider AI initiatives a priority at the board level, but 39% mention technology prerequisites hindering value realization, as per a Tata Communications report. Notably, in India, high-performance network connectivity and hybrid deployment flexibility are crucial for AI, according to a majority of respondents. This indicates a comprehensive view of AI infrastructure needs.
The report reveals that 78% of Indian enterprises view IT operations and network management as the top business function for AI deployment, ranking second globally after the United States. Concerns about AI-related risks, security, and ethical AI are cited by 33% of respondents as the main obstacles to realizing AI value. This highlights the challenges faced by enterprises worldwide in adopting AI.
Despite AI being a priority for 77% of organizations at the board level, many still rely on legacy infrastructure unsuitable for large-scale AI support. Only 29% believe their infrastructure can scale with evolving business demands, with less than half having modernized network connectivity, hybrid deployment flexibility, or data architecture. Integration difficulties with legacy systems are a major roadblock to AI value realization, as reported by 28% of leaders.
Moreover, 90% of enterprises have seen some benefits from modernization efforts, but a significant portion feel they have not achieved optimal outcomes.
