External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi to discuss boosting the strategic partnership between India and Oman. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, logistics services, and modern technologies. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including issues in the Strait of Hormuz affecting trade and energy supplies.
Both ministers emphasized the need for continued coordination on these matters and supporting efforts to enhance understanding and cooperation with various parties. The meeting was attended by officials from both countries, including the Indian Ambassador to Oman. Earlier, Jaishankar engaged with the Indian diaspora in Oman, acknowledging their contributions to strengthening bilateral relations.
Jaishankar’s visit to Oman follows his trip to Kuwait and is part of a larger six-nation tour. He will proceed to New York and Brussels after his visit to Oman.
