The Indian Football League (IFL) started its inaugural season with Aizawl FC and Namdhari Sports Academy playing to a 1-1 draw at the Namdhari Stadium in Sri Bhaini Sahib, Haryana. Vanlalhriatzuala scored for Aizawl in the 43rd minute, while Abdoulaye Diallo equalized for Namdhari in added time.
Aizawl coach Lalruatfela focused on midfield strength with Zomuansanga as the lone striker, aiming to utilize the wings. Namdhari, led by coach Harpreet, fielded a 4-4-2 formation with three Ghanians in key positions.
Aizawl dominated early with Laldawngzuala creating chances, but it was Hriata’s goal just before half-time that put Aizawl in the lead. Namdhari made tactical changes at halftime, bringing on Bhupinder Singh and later Diallo, who eventually scored the equalizer.
Namdhari’s aggressive play led to cautions for both teams, with skipper Moro and Hriata receiving yellow cards. Diallo’s last-minute goal salvaged a point for Namdhari, ending the match in a 1-1 draw.
