India’s hockey players Harmanpreet Singh and Hardik Singh are focusing on the Men’s Hockey India League (HIL) 2026 to enhance their form and confidence before major upcoming events like the FIH Pro League, FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, and 2026 Asian Games.
Harmanpreet Singh, captain of India and Soorma Hockey Club, emphasized the significance of the Hero HIL 2025-26 season in preparing the national team for the challenging year ahead. He highlighted the competitive environment of the league, which mirrors international matches, providing valuable experience before the Pro League, World Cup, and Asian Games.
Hardik Singh, a key player for the Indian team, will lead the midfield for the HIL Governing Council team in the upcoming season. He stressed the importance of the high-pressure games in the league as ideal preparation for the busy tournament schedule awaiting the players. Hardik aims to take on more responsibilities in defense and attack to ensure peak performance for India.
The Men’s Hockey India League 2026 will feature eight franchises competing in a round-robin format, culminating in a grand final on January 26 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. The league promises intense action with 33 matches scheduled, offering players a platform to showcase their skills and readiness for international competitions.
